Web Development

Duke Nukem 3D Music Project
In Spring 2004 I obtained permission from Lee Jackson and Bobby Prince to compose new musical arrangements of the still-popular and still-played Duke Nukem 3D PC game. With 3D Realms making the programmatic source code Open last year, we now have OpenGL support for greatly improved graphics, and now support for MP3 and OGG files in place of the original MIDI music. And now I have completed new arrangements for all three original Episodes, and for the Atomic Edition. Enjoy! Click Here to Check It Out!

Career
I am a hardworking and dedicated Information Technology professional. I am driven to stay on top of new and emerging technologies, with a firm commitment to increasing shareholder value for the company I work for, and for providing workable and manageable solutions for all of my clients.

Development
I provide reliable and on-target IT consulting and also continue to advance my programming skills by taking classes and pursuing certifications when appropriate and when time allows. My current focus of study is on Microsoft .NET, to include working with VisualStudio.NET and its primnary languages, C#, VB.NET and ASP.NET, and I have attended VSLive! Conferences over the past few years. They are always outstanding conferences. I have also attended various Gartner Application Development Summits and am looking to attend again next year. My full-time career and balance with my important home life does not leave me as much time for consulting as I was once able to provide.

Back in Spring 2004, I completed building a new website for the very popular Louisville-based R&B cover band, V-Groove. The new web presence reflects the flavor of the band and will be a solid resource for fans of this outstanding local band, and potential venues looking to book talent of this caliber in the greater Louisville area.

I completed the web site for the Louisville Rose Society back in Summer 2004. This is an excellent group of rose lovers, and their site will continue to grow and provide a useful repository of rose-care information for the greater Louisville area.

Development Methodology:

I am a trained proponent of the Iterative Development Methodology, and its use within the Rational Unified Process. The iterative approach and versioned releases are closely related; in fact, versioned releases are one instance of the iterative approach. The approach, however, includes not only releases and release candidates, but all milestones and deliverables within the project. In this sense, you can think of the process milestones as "spirals within spirals" of successive refinement, as illustrated in the following diagram.

The iterative approach

Between each milestone, the team members build on the draft documents, negotiate the content, and prepare plans for their own teams. The teams work in parallel in this iterative manner.

The concept of versioned releases and "product mindset" are important elements throughout the systems development life cycle because they impact how expectations are set, how decisions are made, and how the entire project is planned and managed.

The IBM Rational Unified Process®, or RUP®, is a configurable software development process platform that delivers proven best practices and a configurable architecture. It has provided very successful returns in the implementations I have led through the development life cycle.

Project Management Methodology:

As a proud member of the Project Management Institute, I follow the PMI Standards Program and it's objective, which is to develop and implement standards for the project management profession, valued by PMI members, the marketplace and other stakeholders.

By identifying, defining, documenting and championing generally accepted project management approaches and a common project management lexicon, PMI Standards assist in improving the competence of experienced and new project management practitioners worldwide. Ultimately, PMI Standards will lead to worldwide excellence in the practice of project management through consistently applied project management standards.
